12 Days of Charities: Summit League

The second day charity spotlight goes to The Summit League.

Established in 1957, The Summit League is a volunteer based, non-profit organization committed to raising funds in the areas of education, health, welfare and the arts. Over the past 50 years, more than a million dollars have been raised for charitable organizations in the Santa Clara Valley.

The main fundraiser each year is a Holiday House Tour. The tour started in 1988 and features homes in the Saratoga/Los Gatos area. Interior decorators and floral designers donate their time to set up the homes with holiday decor. There is also a boutique for holiday gifts and home greenery.

Money raised by the fundraiser go toward the arts, children’s causes, health and social services. Over the years, the Summit League has become an important part of the community, receiving recognition for its contributions. Some of the many benefiting charities are: Hospice of the Valley, Food Bank of Santa Clara Valley, Community Camp Fund, San Jose Museum of Art, and Teen Counseling Center of West Valley.

If you are interested in learning more about getting involved or donating take a look at their website.
