The eighth day charity spotlight goes to The Almaden Valley Counseling Service (AVCS).
The Almaden Valley Counseling Service works toward affordable mental heath counseling for the entire community. AVCS works with all ages, including a focus on the youth within the area to provide counseling for all mental health concerns.
AVCS provides services that range from parenting classes, education outreach, short and long term counseling, to on campus counseling services for local schools. Services offer support, promote personal growth, positive family relationships, and emotional well-being.
In order to be able to provide these services to the community, the AVCS depends on donations and fundraisers including their Annual Almaden Times Classic 10k and 2 mile Race and 2 mile Walk (September), Broomstick Ball (October), and Breakfast with Santa (December). Coming up in April of 2011, a Home Tour. To find out information on how you can participate in these and other fundraisers, take a look at the Almaden Valley Counseling Service website.
